Ashtachoornam consists of Hingu (Asafoetida) and seven other ingredients. Asafoetida is commonly used in kitchen as a spice in very small quantities. It promotes digestion and possesses deflatulent, anticolic, digestant, stimulant and vermicidal proprieties. Other ingredients like ginger, cumin, ajwain, and black pepper contain volatile oils which help to relieve abdominal distension and pain. As a whole, the formulation is a household remedy for indigestion and flatulence.

Dosage
1-2g twice or trice daily with warm water, yoghurt or sprinkled on food
